The American College of Chest Physicians have published “evidence based” guidlines.
They suggest that alcohol intake and economy class do not in themselves increase the risk of DVT
But they suggest that sitting in a window seat with consequential reduction in mobility increases the risk.
As does the use of oral contraceptives, advanced age, pregnancy, recent surgery or trauma and obesity.
