Change to regulations regarding taking liquids through UK airports

Posted on February 17th, 2014. Written by bookingbusinesstravel.

With immediate effect Duty Free liquids purchased from any airport (including non EU airports) may now be taken through UK security screening points, provided it is in a Security Tamper-proof Evidence Bag (STEB) with the receipt sealed inside the bag.

This applies to both transfer and direct Passengers.

Hence, customers are able to purchase Duty Free even if taken landside providing they are in a STEB

The restrictions regarding other liquids still apply:

  • 100ml maximum size containers
  • In one bag maximum 1 litre and resealable 20cm x 20cm (8in x 8in)
  • Must be able to seal and remove from hand luggage for separate screening
